Bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa pemersatu bangsa, awalnya merupakan gabungan dari bahasa daerah, melayu dan Arab. Berikut kosakata baru dalam Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia (KBBI) yang kebanyakan berasal dari serapan bahasa Inggris:
- Warganet
Kata ini sebelumnya lebih populer dengan sebutan netizen, yang bermakna pengguna internet. - Swafoto
swafoto Jika sebelumnya sudah terbiasa dengan kata selfie, maka sekarang harus mulai membiasakan dengan swafoto. Kata ini bisa bermakna potret diri. Biasanya menggunakan ponsel dan diunggah ke media sosial.
- Pramusiwi
Dalam KBBI, pramusiwi berarti wanita yang bekerja pada suatu keluarga dengan tugas merawat bayi atau anak-anak kecil keluarga yang bersangkutan alias pengasuh anak. Sebelumnya lebih populer dengan sebutan babysitter. - Mangkus dan Sangkil
Kata tersebut digunakan untuk menggantikan kata efektif dan efisien. Terdengar masih canggung mengatakannya. - Pelantang
Kata ini digunakan untuk menggantikan kata mikrofon yang sebelumnya sudah ada di KBBI. Mempunyai arti alat yang digunakan untuk melantangkan suara.
